I was just curious as to what other opinions were about it. I put it on my old computer but have yet to install it on my new one. I loved the new features but didn't use it long enough to form a solid opinion. I will say this though, I like that when you download the file, it comes with a file that not only uninstalls the beta, but gives you your older version back exactly the way it was.
It's quite speedy and has some nice features. That being said, it's definitely still in beta and has some standards issues. I've found quite a few sites that have CSS and other formatting issues with Safari 4. I keep it around for quick multi-browser checking, but Firefox is still my go to.
I'm a little confused about Safari 4 beta... On my computer (but I've installed more than 4 third party plugins) Safari 4 crashes too often, but I love its new features, as a result I won't downgrade for the moment.
Already tried the developer preview version too, a long time ago, a little deception because of the fact Apple didn't keep the web applications function...
I am loving it. Very few problems for me. The incorporation of speed dialing like Opera and FF have , cover flow and some other little neat stuff makes it fun to use. The tabs at the top like Chrome has was a nice touch too. Well chrome and safari are based off of Web kit anyway so anything one has you can be sure the other will follow soon. I still do a lot with Firefox a little more but give Safari some more improvements and I could see myself using it a little bit more then FF
I think the biggest reason I'm so loyal to Safari and hardly use FF at all is due, not to features or anything that truly matters, but because I like the look of Safari. I don't feel at home using FF.
