You can try to download it from Apple website from apple.com/safari Did you get an error when trying to download it from the Software Update? Did you repair permissions before downloading the update?

How to make MMS on Apple 2G with OS 3.0 firmware

Just install ActivateMMS2G from Cydia or follow these steps: For install copy mms2g.deb to iphone in folder, for example /var/root Then in same folder (/var/root) in terminal input: dpkg -i mms2g.deb Reboot. or Extract files from Patch.zip to iphone to folders same as arhive. For CommCenter chmod 755. Reboot. In settings adjust apn, user, password.
